Rodents
From The Pet Wiki
Welcome to the pet rodents page!
Please read the following information carefully and do your research before getting any pet. Rodents can be as rewarding and engaging as the larger animals but please don't make the mistake of thinking they need less care.
There are many rodents in need of homes in various rescue centres - please consider these before going to a pet shop. Rescue rodents deserve a chance at a good home, and in many cases will have been handled more, and therefore be friendlier than a pet shop rodent. There are also plenty of unexpected litters that get handed into rescues - so you can still get them as babies.
Be aware that exotic rodents will require a higher level of attention and care and may have complicated dietary and environmental needs. They are not something to rush into, especially if you have not kept rodents before.
