Aegean cat
From The Pet Wiki
[edit] Description
The Aegean cat is a naturally occurring breed that originates from the Cycladic Islands of Greece in the Aegean Sea. The development of this breed of cat started in the early 1990s by breeders in the beginning of the Greek Cat Fancy, and is considered to be the only only native Greek cat breed. Since it is one of the most recent cat breeds, it is thought to be among the rarest. However, they appear to be ubiquitous throughout Greece. They're very much liked for their intelligence and character, and in rural areas they are often seen as the best method of pest control, since they're very capable predators. Though the Aegean cat has only very recently started to be bred systematically, it has been domesticated for several centuries. It is very social and has become well adapted to humans. It will tolerate living in an apartment well. It is lively, active, intelligent, and communicative. It does not hesitate to attract a person's attention.
